An Introduction

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Noemi Quintero. I am currently a freshman at Texas State University located in the beautiful city of San Marcos, Texas. I am currently majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Art. In this blog I will be teaching college students about different methods that can be used on the path of healing whether that be emotionally, internally, physically or spiritually. In addition to this, simple how to’s for implementing these resources into our everyday lives for better living.

Most people are not picture perfect beings without weaknesses within themselves, that being said there is always room for improvement. Life can be extremely fast-paced at time and there are always little things that we can do to ease our mind and soul, utilizing crystals being one of them. I myself have also been learning and experimenting with other various methods to continue my progress. Seeing progress starting to take form within myself, I wanted to also spread and help others who relate and are interested, or would simply like to learn more about inner healing.

Healing is a very broad term, it can mean different things for everyone. Although in the end result growth has happened and we are bettering ourselves. Every week there will be new content that can help guide to better overall living. Whether that be with crystals, daily planners, or learning about chakras. Those are just some of the many methods that could be explored in the future.

I hope to show other college students some of the many ways we can better our energy and heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Simple everyday methods that will be talked about can be the first step in your healing process. Happy healing!

Thank You!

We have come to the ending of this blog journey, I really enjoyed creating content for other to see and maybe help out with their journey to a better life.

Building my own site was extremely fun, although I would have liked doing some stuff different. I would have included more colors and a fun feeling to my post and site. I do not feel like there was much creative energy put into the site, I was more focused on the actual content of the post. In addition, I could have promoted better throughout my other social medias like Instagram and Snapchat and through mass text messages to my close friends and family.

My favorite part of this project was the process of gathering information from the web. Feeding and stimulating my brain with so much new information that could only benefit me was the best part. This could help me in the future because my research skills have gotten better throughout this process. It got easier to notice when sites could provide useful information or not. All the tools I have learned through keeping up with a blog could be used to start a blog for a company or I could also implement the jab jab hook for social media management.

After looking at the statistics for my blog, the week of May 4th was my most popular. I had 9 views and 6 visitors on my site. My introduction post got the most views (4), I believe that this happened because during this time everyone was starting their blog. Probably like myself, others must have been going through the fdom hashtag on twitter to see what others were going to be writing about. Something that surprised me on the statistics, as shown above were the 3 views I got from China!

Never stop growing, happy healing (:

Shadow Work and Healing

What does the path to healing and a better life really mean and look like? Like anything that is good, healing takes a lot of work, effort, and dedication. Healing is truly a never ending path, there will be days where there is a lot of progress made, and other days where you might feel back at square one. The most important thing is to be resilient and continue on the journey for a better life step by step.

Everything you have experienced throughout your childhood has shaped you into the person you are today, whether they were good or bad. The stuff that your parents or guardians did not approve of or categorized as wrong, were subconsciously suppressed to avoid said reaction from elder. Some examples could be negative emotions like anger or sadness, the need for love and affection, or inner greed, these are just some examples but it is different for everyone. Everything that is being suppressed is referred to as your Shadow.

Confronting your Shadow and learning to live with it and implement it into yourself is called Shadow Work. Learning who you are under all of the layers of trauma and hurt. Essentially you are becoming more self aware so that you can find balance withing yourself and live in peace. Learning how to nurture the needs and parts of you that were not seen and ignored during childhood.

Because I believe Shadow Work is something not for the faint of heart since it is essentially a process of triggering issues and diving deep into the why and how you can stop the cycle and rewire your brain. I suggest doing some additional research and learn more about it if it something that you are interested in. While doing research on my own I came across this site that does a good job of explaining.

You should feel proud of yourself for being strong enough to walk the journey of healing. It is always much easier and simpler to avoid things that are scary and unknown and tough, but healing is necessary and we should always strive to be the best version of ourselves. I see you, you are seen and loved and supported by me.

Happy Healing (:

Moon Cycles

Astrology has been a great resource and extension to spiritually in my personal journey. Paying attention to the planetary transits and how they are affecting me personally has helped me understand a lot and make progress.

Today I would like to focus specifically on the different moon cycles and how we can use these energies to our advantage. It takes the moon approximately 29 days to complete a full orbit around the earth and go through all of its phases.

New moons happen when the moon is directly in between the sun and earth. During this time it is good to think about stuff you would to start and implement into your life. What are some things that you would like to start doing that will better your mental and spiritual health? Set intentions for the month that you would like to see blossom. The new moon energy helps us with new beginnings and to feel hopeful for the future.

Full moons are a bit different energetically. Full moons happen when the moon and sun are opposing each other causing the moon to illuminate fully. During this moon phase we are analyzing what has to come to an end. Things we must release that no longer fulfill us and are causing delays with healing and becoming the best version of ourselves.

Now knowing what these two most important moon phases mean spiritually, how can we implement that knowledge to ourselves personally? This is where astrology comes into play. The moon changes zodiac sign every 2.5 days, knowing what sign the moon is during these moon phases can help us know what to focus on individually.

This Thursday May 7th there will be the last super full moon of the year 2020 in the sign of Scorpio. During this time we are going to be releasing and shedding what is no longer working in our benefit. Scorpio is the sign of transformation, let go of things that weight you down and make space for the new to come in. A lot of intense emotions could be surfacing during this time, do not be afraid to dive deep into the unknown.

I challenge you to evaluate yourself and come up with a few things you would like to let go of. It could be negative self talk, bad eating habits, anything that you feel you are ready to release this full moon. If you are having trouble coming up with ideas, try and meditate. Let your thoughts flow and sit with them. This website can help provide more insight about the full moon and what to keep in mind.

Write down those things on a piece of paper with the intention of shedding them from your life. Burn your paper and visualize the items on your paper being released into the responsibility of the universe. Breathe and let go.

Happy Healing!

How To Remain Calm During The 2020 Pandemic

The world is in a current state of shock because of recent events that I am sure we are all aware of. It can be very easy to become overwhelmed during this time. With the combination of not being able to leave the home, how heavy the media is covering this pandemic, unexpected situations and many other things that every individual is facing.

There are a few small but very effective exercises that I would like to share with everyone in hopes to restore a little bit of peace in our hearts during this difficult time. Before we jump into the topic of today, please remember to practice social distancing. Inform yourself about the current precautions you should be taking according to your area. Know how to protect yourself from COVID-19 here.

As stated previously, constantly watching the news or reading articles about recent updates can quickly cause a lot of distress. This by no means that you should not watch the news at all, but just be mindful of how often you are doing so. Everything is good for one, as long as it is done in moderation.

Following up with this, not only should you only be doing this now but regularly, is limiting the usage of electronics during the day; whether that be smart phones, watching television or playing video games. Instead of spending all day scrolling on social media, try to spend time meditating everyday. Meditation is something that can very much ground you. Focusing on your breathing can help u forget the rest of the world even if it is for just a short amount of time. Restore tranquility and peace in your heart with this practice.

Remember to take care of yourself, what ever that might mean for you. Now that a lot of us are stuck indoors, use this time to pamper yourself, clean up your room, finish the painting you have been putting off; have fun with the free time. Try to hone in calm energy and practice positivity within the home.

Check in with your loved ones. This is a very difficult time for a lot of people, showing love to others is so important now. Remember to always do things from the heart, be a helping hand.

A lot of us college students are now back in our home town so suddenly and change can sometimes be tough. Remember to stay resilient and positive. Remember to continue taking school seriously, this is a great time to implement new positive and productive habits.

You are never alone. Happy healing!

Astrology

Horoscopes, zodiac signs and compatibility are all some things that might come to mind when the topic of Astrology is introduced to one. Truth is that there is more to Astrology than googling if you and your crush’s zodiac signs are compatible or the Horoscope section of magazines.

Astrology is an extremely complex science to study so I would like to focus on a few concepts that could possibly help us be more in tune with ourselves.

Before we begin it is important to have a birth chart. A birth chart is a unique screenshot –you could say– showing one where the planets were located during the time of your birth. All you need to know to obtain your birth chart is: your exact birth time, location of birth, and date of birth.

Once all of that information is compiled, simply input the information into this website.

Assuming you have your birth chart on hand, now we can dive into the actual contents of the chart. Your birth chart might seem extremely overwhelming at first glance, for this reason we are only focusing on two planets from our chart today and how we can use the information to our advantage.

Moon Sign

The moon in astrology represents all of our inner world. The moon represents our emotions, our subconscious, our needs, and much more. Depending on which zodiac sign your moon is in says a lot about you. For example you could have your moon in the sign of Taurus or Scorpio; your moon could be in any of the twelve signs. Each zodiac is uniquely different.

Having knowledge about our moon sign can help direct ourselves to better self help. As stated above, every sign is different; signs express their love and emotions differently. A Cancer moon would probably be very emotional and appreciate physical comfort because of their water like energy. While an Air sign moon (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra) would much rather deal with their emotions differently because they are naturally more free flowing and quick minded- not one to be extremely comfortable with their emotions.

In example, my birth chart informs me that I have a Gemini moon. To better handle my emotions I like to journal because it helps me feel lighter. Having an air sign moon it is not easy for me to be emotional and vulnerable, utilizing a journal helps me find a safe space to express myself.

I suggest everyone to do a little research on their specific moon sign to see how you can better manage your emotions and inner world.

Venus Sign

Venus is the planet of love, pleasure, beauty, and all things that bring happiness to our everyday lives. Love does not always have to be romantic, love can come from friends and family, or most importantly, from within.

Everybody’s love language is different. Some might express their love through acts of service, others through materialistic items, playful teasing, or big intense romantic gestures. Knowing what our or our loved ones’ Venus sign can guide us to better assist them and ourselves. Learn how to love others in the way they need it, and equally as important– how to love and nurture ourselves.

Again depending on ones Venus sign is how we express that loving energy. To give an example, my Venus is in the sign of Aries. Aries is a Fire sign who’s love is playful yet bold. I love to express my love towards my friends and family physically with hugs and especially support with anything they are doing. Everything I want for myself I want for my loved ones even more. Another individual who might have a Virgo Venus could show their love through simple acts of service. Virgo is known for being the giving sign of the zodiac, always selfless and willing to help others.

Every Venus placement is different and expresses their love uniquely. Inform yourself about your loved ones Venus sign to consciously speak and understand their specific love language. This can help deepen the relationship and better understand each other which is always the goal.

Much like it can help with relationships it can very well help oneself. Learn what makes you feel safe and loved. Treat yourself to a nice bag, meditate if that helps you feel at peace. Really get to know yourself and your love language.

Happy Healing!

Tarot

The first step to healing is acknowledging and being aware of what needs to change. To be aware is to be in control. It takes a really strong individual to be able to accept their reality and actively work towards change. There are many different ways to find your inner truth and connect with the universe to better understand yourself.

What is Tarot?

Tarot is a tool that originated in Italy consisting of a 78 card deck. In these 78 cards there are two main groups of cards, the major arcana and minor arcana. The minor arcana consist of four suits: cups, pentacles, swords and wands. Each of these suits have different meanings, which can be learned about more in dept through this article. Tarot cards can be used in many different ways. Some people choose to practice tarot professionally and offer card readings.

Today I would like to focus on a quick daily activity that helps us use tarot for our own person healing.

Daily Card Pull

With this first exercise essentially, one would shuffle the deck until one card is selected. How you choose to decide that id completely up to each individual. Some people like to shuffle their cards until a card physically falls out of the deck. Others could prefer to simply shuffle and take the card that is either on the top or bottom of the deck. I suggest practicing and testing different methods to see what is most comfortable for you.

Once you have a set card for the day I will suggest two things: understand and meditate. Take some time to really know what the card represents and what it is trying to tell you. Set a timer for 10 minutes and mediate mindfully. Take this time to really think about how the meaning of the card can relate with you in this current moment.

This quick and simple 10 minute meditation is perfect for us college students with busy schedules. Daily card pulls could just be the beginning of a very successful future. Happy healing!
