Hello! Welcome to my blog. First of all thank you so much for being here and supporting my blog. As much as this blog is for you the reader, it is also helping me throughout my journey as well. When I first started this blog I did not think of myself and how it could also help me.
Being the eldest daughter in an immigrant household can be challenging at times. If you are not familiar with the culture that comes along with that it might be difficult to understand. There comes a lot of pressure from parents to be successful, respectable, and stable. I put an emphasis on being a daughter and not eldest child because much like in other cultures, men and women and treated differently. Being a woman in Hispanic culture there is always so much pressure, restrictions, expectations and responsibilities on our shoulders.
Without going into much detail about the difficulties in my childhood, there has been a lot to deal with. It is very easy to ignore and not realize how damaged and sad we have been feeling on the inside for so long because of distractions. Being alive during this time period can be overwhelming, I feel like the world is constantly on the go. Most people do not implement ‘down time’ into their everyday schedule even though it is important. With the help of weekly exercises I am able to reflect and have some time to decompress.
With this blog I have become more mindful of myself and how I treat not only myself and my vessel but also others. We truly never know somebody completely, you never know what somebody might be going through or dealing with.
Although I am spreading knowledge for others, I am also going through stuff like the rest of the world. We are in this together.
